OVER THE RAINBOW
The Music of Harold
Arlen
S.T.A.G.E. Benefits
1995

This was my first poster for S.T.A.G.E. Benefits and it was done completely by hand (except for the type which I set with computer). I still did not know enough about Illustrator or Photoshop to use the computer to help make my art better. For instance, the dubious perspective on the rainbow could have been corrected. “Having a Mac means no more lumpy rainbows, Mom.” I was thinking of Joseph Binder at first, but obviously arrived somewhere else.

Acrylic paint, airbrush on white board. Type on acetate overlay.
