I recall that I met Larry Rea at one of my poster shows at Triton Gallery, and he asked me to come see his dancers at his studio, as they were forming a company “The Trocadero Gloxinia Ballet de Monte Carlo.” I was intrigued, as these were all men en pointe, i.e., dancing on point, which until then had only been done by women. Though they were serious dancers, they were not at all immune to camp, but in a subtly droll manner. So I created a poster featuring the prima ballerinas of the time, Ekhatarina Sobeschenskya and Ivana Bytschakokov.

In transparent dyes on white board.
