TRAFFIC
BLUE CHEER
IRON BUTTERFLY:
Fillmore East Theater
1968

This was my first poster for the Fillmore East. Being a painter, I had no training in Graphic Arts, per se, but I made a quick study of the existing west coast art & was automatically drawn to Victor Moscoso, who I still think is the best (along with David Singer). The Indian came from a drawing I had done in school. I worked hard to make Presstype unreadable. I eventually figured out what a poster was supposed to do. This was a hurried but noble try. No cigar.

Black ink, Presstype, Letrafilm on white board.
