I was in a group show called "REVOLUTIONS: Artists Who Rocked the World of Music Industry Graphics" at the Forest Lawn Museum, curated by Joan Adan. The show had a glitzy opening with Michele Shocked & her band, and a popular, if truncated, run. Later Joan asked if I could do the poster celebrating the Centennial of the Forest Lawn parks. 1906 in Glendale, California made me think of the Arts & Crafts Movement, Monterey Tile, Bauer Pottery. I also was inspired by the exquisite poster work in that vein of David Lance Goines. Even if it was about a cemetery, I wanted it to feel like a comfortable piece of furniture.
